Inside Byrness Church

The keys for Byrness Church are available from the cafe at the adjacent petrol station. There is seating for about sixty people. Music is provided by recordings or an American organ, which was recently restored by a visiting enthusiast.

Byrness Church Window

Byrness Church dates from 1796. It was therefore the local church for the workers involved in construction of Catcleugh Reservoir and their lives and sacrifice is commemorated in a stained glass window -- a rare example depicting working people.
